Resource guardianship week 3

Dear readers.

Why is it that time flies when you are having fun? It's week three and we are getting the hang of things. Tuesday we checked in 200L of EM at the pakstoor and we marked them with the date of arrival. We learn't that they are to be used last because we still have left of the previous batch and it is said to use the oldest first. We also had a FGASA meeting with Cobus where he told us about the organization and what the pros and cons are to it. We had a very nice bonus function after lunch that day where we had to think of a song and dance in our various groups. All the winning groups from the previous function also received their trophies ans photos were taken.

Wednesday we distributed EM again in the various places. It's not a difficult job but it takes up a lot of time and we struggle a lot with opening the containers. We also had to start fixing the fence that the giraffe ran through because it is next to the cattle pen and they need to be kept in this area. It's between 100 and 200meters in distance and the whole fence needs to be dismantled and then erected with new lines and droppers. Every 100m there is an anchor post, every 10m a y-standard and every 5m a dropper. This is really a big job because 15 lines need to be replaced and fastened at every dropper.
The weekend was one to remember! We worked welcoming the Friday and the Saturday the fun began. The endurance race was held at Sondela and there were so many competitors! We were put on marshal post to check that no cattle go through the gate nor game. The horses were afraid of us at first but after the third time passing they got used to the idea of anthills with clothes on...We were there at 6 o'clock the morning and we only left at 4 o'clock that afternoon. The rising sun made it worth it!
On Sunday we went on with the original weekend program witch is entertainment. We fetch Diablo to do horse rides  with the children and we fetch the donkeys and the cart to do donkey cart rides. It's a lot of fun but Diablo knows when it's time to go back and he runs with you if you like it or not!

Later the afternoon we drove the trails that they rode with the horses to pick up the papers and rubbish. On Monday they did not have a cruiser available for us so we were given permission to catch up with paperwork.

The perfect end to a perfect week 3. Until next week!
