Dear readers.
On Wednesday we started the day off with fire checks. We all get the chance to help with fire checks because we need to learn how to do it and if we get to another workplace you can add that to your list of skills. We were broken up into teams to do different tasks. We did EM again until lunch and we distributed in these figures:
Guest house hedge : 10L
Horse stables : 8L
CVP drain : 40L
WLC drain : 5L
Piccininis : 5L
After lunch we worked on our Aids project and then got onto the cruiser to drive to the 400ha jagkamp. We were looking for Queleas and we checked on the harvesting of sekelbush. They cut off a peeling bark tree and they haven't been dabbing the trees after cutting. We came back at 17:30.
On Thursday we worked on our Aids project for a little while and then we were asked to help the WLC second years with their sheet mulching project. We layered the ground with all the different materials and applied a lot of water. The planting will be done by the second years but it was very interesting to see you can make a garden even when you are lazy! We then walked back to the academy and wrote a report on the mulching experience. After lunch we went out to distribute mineral blocks, Ambipor, boskos and Queen of the night:
Main gate hide : 1L Ambipor
Makhato 45 : 750ml Ambipor, mineral block, boskos and queen of the night.
Makhato 14 : mineral block
Makhato 24 : mineral block
Makhato 3 : Dip bowl lowered, boskos, queen of the night and Ambipor 1.8L
Adriano's house: mineral block
Ian's house : Ambipor 500ml
The weekend was not as busy as we thought it would be considering it's the start of the school holidays. On Friday we started with the handover meeting and we did paperwork the whole morning. After lunch we did welcoming until 21:00.
On Saturday I had split shift with Karen and we did a gamedrive at 14:00. We then did the bring and braai that night until 21:00.
On Sunday we did donkey and horse rides the morning. We also did fence checks and cut off branches for the WLC. We also had a meeting at 15:00.
On Monday we did a bit of paperwork again and then we went on to fence checks again and we cut of branches again for the WLC because we are experimenting which trees they like and which they don't like. After lunch we continued with the cutting and we took away the old branches to the compost heap. We then sat in the python and caught up with daily reports and logbooks.
