Junior management

Dear readers.

So it's 2012 and we are the new junior managers. We have been given more responsibility and we need to teach the first years the know how around the courses that they will be doing through out the year. We are also their examples.. The role models that they will want to be like when they become second years so our every step is watched.

On that positive note, we have been on courses called ETD courses that consisted of coaching, facilitating and assessors so we can run the classes and assessments of the first years when they get to our course. As you all know I am doing the captive animal management course this year which is a second year in the Wildlife Centre. It has not even been a few weeks and I am already loving it!

When I came back from our off time we had a Stepper buzzard come in that was poisoned so we had to force feed it charcoal water. They have a separate hole in the middle of their tongues for breathing and then the back hole is for swallowing. It was very interesting to see that they would rather claw then bite you because their claws are the most dangerous weapons they have.

It was very interesting to see how it started to behave better after a few days. We have another one that came in with a hurt wing but it won't be long before they are let go into the wild.

So whats next??
