Our enrichment projects as 2nd years are goin very slow but it's getting there. It is a project that continues for the duration of the year so there is no rush but we need to change some details so we can adjust the project to better the environment for the animal.
In my case I have inserted some branches for the Honey buzzard to perch on placed at different heights so he is forced to change height when flying. The door in the middle of the enclosure was planned to be removed so he can have a longer flight distance but at this stage it enables him to change the heights and make a plan to get to the other half of the enclosure.
He likes to perch on the very high branches because he can get away from the people walking around his enclosure. He eats in the same place as always and his flight had improved because he gets more exercise.
I still need to work on the caracal project as I have not had the chance to work with them.
