We have finished off with our group of first years and now we have received a new one. They are 7 learners and the boy girl ratio is a bit more balanced then the previous group.
They like learning and they are very helpful, they want to finish a task as soon as they have received it and they do well as a group because they have been working together in RG. There are one or two of them that need to find their place as they tend to fade away but we will work on that so they get their self confidence to speak up and contribute their ideas.
Our first morning was a bit dull as they are a big group and a lot needs to be explained ito preparing food which is the first task to everyday. They immediately broke up into boys and girls and divided the task so they can finish up faster. The girls prepared the fruits and the boys the meat, I did the milk because it is a bit more complicated to know who is who in the zoo without working with them.
They did very well and I set a time limit to 8am, the food needs to be done by this time even if we don't have a feeding tour. They are enjoying the experience a lot and I look forward to working with them.
